The Pink Margin Initiative was founded from a deeply personal experience. After facing breast cancer while living on a single income, our founder, Lindsey Baccari, discovered that while many organizations provide invaluable research, education, and awareness, countless women still struggle with the everyday financial realities of treatment. Rent doesn’t stop. Utility bills don’t pause. Groceries still need to be purchased. Children still need care.
The Pink Margin was created to help bridge that gap by providing compassionate, local support to women and families facing breast cancer throughout Tomball and Greater Houston. Because no one should have to choose between healing and paying the bills.

To provide compassionate, local support for women and families facing breast cancer through emergency financial assistance, community partnerships, and practical resources that reduce financial stress during treatment.
Meet the Founder
Lindsey Baccari founded The Pink Margin Initiative after experiencing firsthand how deeply breast cancer can affect every part of a person’s life—not only physically and emotionally, but financially and practically as well.
As a single-income high school English teacher in Tomball, Lindsey continued working while undergoing treatment and managing the everyday responsibilities that did not pause for cancer. Along the way, she saw how easily women and families can fall into the “margin”: earning too much to qualify for some forms of assistance, yet not enough to absorb lost wages, medical expenses, transportation costs, groceries, utilities, and other essential needs.
That experience inspired Lindsey to create the kind of local support she wished had been easier to find during her own treatment.
A longtime educator and community advocate, Lindsey believes that meaningful change begins when neighbors choose to care for one another. Through The Pink Margin, she is bringing together survivors, volunteers, businesses, healthcare providers, and community leaders to help women and families feel supported, respected, and less alone.
Her vision is for The Pink Margin to become a trusted local resource—one that provides practical assistance, connects families with helpful services, creates opportunities for community involvement, and reminds every woman facing breast cancer that her community has not forgotten her.
For Lindsey, The Pink Margin is more than an organization. It is a promise that hardship should never make someone invisible and that hope is strongest when it begins close to home.

Emergency Housing Assistance
Short-term assistance with rent or mortgage expenses when treatment-related hardship threatens housing stability.
Utility Bills
Help with essential household expenses such as electricity, water, or gas.
Groceries
Grocery assistance for individuals and families whose budgets have been disrupted by treatment.
Transportation
Gas cards, rides, or other transportation support for treatment and medical appointments.
Childcare
Limited help with childcare expenses connected to treatment, surgery, or recovery.
Recovery Essentials
Possible assistance with eligible deductibles, copays, wigs, compression garments, prostheses, or other approved recovery needs.
